| Hosting or
"sponsoring" an eight-hour Illegal Dumping
Enforcement Training class in your community is very easy.
It's also a great way to stretch your training and travel
budgets. Instead of moving your people to the class, you
bring the class to your town. Your code officers receive
DSHS credits and your police receive T.C.L.E.O.S.E.
hours.
The host community (1) provides
a suitable classroom facility; (2) helps get
the word out in the law enforcement and code enforcement
communities; and, (3) arranges for morning coffee and
break refreshments. No money outlay is required. TIDRC does the rest, from registration to
final certification, and everything in between.
These classes are community
events. Local Keep Texas Beautiful
affiliates often cooperate by providing refreshments at
morning and afternoon breaks. Local waste hauling
companies often participate by providing lunch.
Participants who
successfully complete these classes receive eight
hours continuing education credit as law enforcement
(TCLEOSE) or code enforcement officers. Department
of State Health Services approves the class for code
enforcement credit.
As an additional inducement
to bringing this training to your community, participants
from your city or county receive a 20% discount in
participant fees. So the normal $75 participant fee paid
by others becomes $60 for participants from your
community. Low tuition cost plus no travel
expenses results in the least expensive way to get
your people trained.
And these are very popular,
well-attended and well-regarded classes. Many think that
these classes are the best continuing education events
they have ever attended. For a list of recent classes and

If you would like to bring
this training to your community, just send an email to me
at the below address or give me a call. We can go over the
entire process with you and put you in contacts with other
communities who have sponsored this event in the past.
It really is that
easy.
